Hulu has released the first trailer for "Marvel's Runaways," which will premiere on November 21. The trailer went up a few hours before the show's pilot episode was screened at New York Comic Con 2017. Some details gleaned from the pilot's reviews will be discussed below.

Deadline breaks the news of the trailer's release. It is currently available on YouTube, or you can watch it below. But here is the gist: a group of teenagers gathers at the home of their friend Alex Wilder (Rhenzy Feliz). They discover a hidden door that leads to a secret room where their parents have gathered, dressed in scarlet robes, to perform a human sacrifice. Watch it now:

There are other details in the trailer. We see some of the kids either learning or gaining powers. Molly Hernandez's (Allegra Acosta) eyes appear to blaze with light. Blonde bombshell Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner) sees her hands glowing, which makes her smile.

In other trailer scenes, the details remain unclear. The hunky Chase Stein (Gregg Sulkin) briefly appears to be working on a device, something vaguely hand-shaped (the image is blurry). Goth girl Nico Minoru (Lyrica Okano) gets hold of a mystical object and is also seen throwing something into a bonfire, possibly to cast a spell.

Molly comes face to face with a mysterious creature. It looks vaguely reptilian and appears to have a nose ring-like one you'd see on a bull. As for Gert Yorkes (Ariela Barer), the violet-haired girl, she barely appears at all in the trailer.

The characters were created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona for the comic book "Runaways," whose first issue came out in 2003. Longtime Marvel Comics readers are no doubt familiar with the Runaways, but they are new to much of the TV viewing audience.

The New York Comic Con crowd got to see the pilot episode of "Runaways." Among them was Joshua Yehl of IGN, who describes it as quite faithful to the original comic book. "It looks like every member of the cast got up off the comic book page and walked onto the set," wrote Yehl.
