'Survivor' Season 35 Spoilers and Predictions: First Boot Revealed?
"Survivor" season 35 premieres tonight on CBS. Here's a look at what fans can expect this season, along with some predictions. Spoilers and speculation to follow, including the name of the contestant who's expected to be the first one voted off the island.
This season of "Survivor" is called "Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers," which refers to the three tribes that will be competing in Fiji in the early game. The members of the tribes were chosen based on the way they are perceived by others.
"Heroes" is made up of people who are seen as, well, heroes. They include a U.S. Marine (Ben), an NFL player (Alan), a firefighter (J.P.), a lifeguard (Ashley), a former Olympian (Katrina) and the hard-to-classify Chrissy. The service-oriented "Healers" include a urologist (Mike), a nurse (Jessica), a physical therapist (Desi), a wilderness therapy guide (Cole), a social worker (Roark) and a probation officer (Joe).
The "Hustlers" tribe comprises people who are known for their strong work ethic and intense drive to get ahead, which sounds like good traits for a contestant on "Survivor." This tribe includes a bellhop (Ryan), a personal assistant (Ali), a fisherman (Lauren), a surf instructor (Devon), a diversity advocate (Simone) and a small business owner (Patrick).
"Survivor" host Jeff Probst has talked to Entertainment Weekly about the contestants he thinks the audience will enjoy watching. His first pick is the smart, nerdy-looking Dr. Mike, who is apparently quite a funny guy. Sounds like Dr. Mike will play a big comic relief role on the show, but will he also be a great "Survivor" player? Or simply the kind of contestant that fans won't want to see going home?
Probst has already dropped some hints about this season's final tribal council. He has called it one of his favorite final councils and promised that season 35 will have one of the greatest finishes in "Survivor" history, reports Reality TV World.
The first six minutes of "Survivor" season 35 are already viewable online at the Survivor On CBS channel (watch it below). It offers a quick introduction to the three tribes before sending them straight into a challenge. The winner and the runner-up will be rewarded with fire-making tools.
There is already buzz about the player who will get the boot in this first episode. "Survivor" fans have studied the preview materials and noted that a certain player only seems to be present in the first immunity challenge of the season. The contestant thus identified is Katrina, the former Olympic swimmer, a member of the "Heroes" tribe. Further speculation suggests that "Hustlers" Devon and Lauren won't be making it very far into the game, either.
