'Shadowhunters' Season 3: Showrunner Promises More Magnus - Alec Scenes
Love is in the air in the Shadow World in "Shadowhunters" Season 3. According to co-showrunner Todd Slavkin, the next chapter of the urban fantasy teen drama will feature more romantic moments between Magnus Bane (Harry Shum Jr.) and Alec Lightwood (Matthew Daddario).
This, he promised on Twitter. While a huge part of the next season will likely be about Clary (Katherine McNamara) finally dating Jace (Dominic Sherwood), fans of Magnus and Alec, or #Malec to fans, will also have their fair share of romance on-screen.
When a fan asked Slavkin on Twitter whether there will be moments between Magnus and Alec that will make their fans gasp in "Shadowhunters" Season 3, he promised that there will be. Not only that, he explicitly stated that there will be plenty more moments between the couple.
In the previous two seasons, Magnus and Alec went through tough challenges that threaten to tear them apart. However, every time, they emerged victorious and their relationship stronger than before.
For now, no one still has any idea what will happen to the couple in "Shadowhunters" Season 3 but, by now, fans can rest assured that nothing can break them up. In a previous interview with Slavkin and co-showrunner Darren Swimmer from TV Line, the High Warlock of Brooklyn and the Shadowhunter are officially back together.
"Oh, they're back," Swimmer stated. "And better than ever," Slavkin added.
Moreover, the next season will be all about the two of them further exploring their relationship and their feelings for each other. He added it was rather interesting, not to mention fun, to write.
"It's a beautiful thing as we move forward into Season 3," he teased. "We're exploring the intimacy and domesticity and pushing that relationship farther along with added complications."
"Shadowhunters" Season 3 is expected to return in 2018 on Freeform. Recount the uber sweet reunion of Magnus and Alec by watching the snippet below.
