BTOB unveils MV for 'Movie'

Cube Entertainment has announced that BTOB will have a comeback on October 16 with the release of a full-length album. In an interesting move, BTOB's return is set to coincide with the comeback of the former Cube group Highlight.

Boy band BTOB last came out with a full album in 2015 with the release of "Complete." It was the group's first full-length effort. The ballad track "It's Okay" off that album performed well as a single, ranking number one on several Korean music charts.

The initial reports of BTOB's comeback that surfaced in September said that the group would be releasing a ballad title track. Cube responded to this news by confirming the comeback plans but saying that the upcoming title track had not yet been determined.

It remains to be seen whether the October 16 release will be a ballad track or something more in keeping with their recent single "Movie," which was a dance track. "Movie" was released for BTOB's comeback in March this year. Following that, the group turned its focus to the "Piece of BTOB" series of solo song releases from each one of its members, notes Soompi. The last of the series to be released was Eunkwang's song "One Day," a romantic ballad from BTOB's leader and main vocalist.

Cube's announcement of the BTOB comeback has stirred a little controversy, with industry watchers taking note that it is scheduled on the same date as the comeback of Highlight, says AllKpop. Formerly known as BEAST, Highlight used to be with Cube Entertainment until the members left the label in 2016. A legal battle with Cube failed to win them the rights to the "BEAST" name, necessitating the change. Highlight's upcoming comeback was set for October 16 to mark the 9th anniversary of BEAST's debut in 2009.
