"Descendants of the Sun" still keeps on inspiring many people even after it aired more than a year ago. It even touched the K-pop band IZ. That being said, the group came up with a song inspired by the characters of the said hit television series.

The new South Korean boy band, IZ, sat with Jung Chan Woo and Kim Tae Gyun on their radio program, "2 O'CLock escape Cultwo Show," just recently, as per Soompi. There, they talked about their debut album, "All You Want." During the program, the group's leader, Ji Hoo shared some trivia about one of their songs.

One of the tracks on their record is a love song titled "You and Me." Many might be curious about how this song was created as its lyrics really captured the heart of the fans. It turns out that IZ has the most unlikely inspiration for this.

Ji Hoo, who wrote the song, said he got his inspiration from "Descendants of the Sun" after watching it. To recall, the hit Korean television series focuses on the love story of a doctor (played by Song Hye Kyo) and a soldier from South Korean Special Forces Unit (played by Song Joong Ki). The 19-year-old singer said he does not have that kind of experience yet.

Thus, he recalled the "Descendants of the Sun"s scene where Hye Kyo's character grieved over Joong Ki's character because she thought he already passed away after his mission. There, IZ's leader said, he based the lyrics to their song, "You and Me." It looks like Ji Hoo is fond of watching Korean dramas. He also shared that he really gets helo from watching dramas.

IZ just debuted last month with their mini-album "All You Want." Their tracks are out on the market now so be sure to grab a copy. In the meantime, take a look at their "All You Want" music video below.
