'Four Sons': NU'EST's Ren Joins Park Hae Jin & After School's Nana In New Drama
NU'EST member, Ren, is officially joining the upcoming drama, "Four Sons." The singer/actor will star alongside Park Hae Jin ("Cheese in the Trap," "My Love From The Star"), Kwal Si Yang ("Oh My Ghost," "Mirror of the Witch"), Kyung Soo Jin ("Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo," "Entourage") and Nana of After School.
The reports that Ren will join "Four Sons" first appeared last month when his agency, Pledis Entertainment, revealed that the singer-actor has received an offer to star in the upcoming drama. According to the statement, the actor was considering the project, but has not confirmed his involvement.
Now, fans can rejoice. The popular boy band member is coming back to acting.
According to a report by Soompi, Ren will play the role of Yeon Hoon, the younger brother of Yeo Rin, a character who will be portrayed by girl group member Nana. As kids, the siblings stood up for each other in times of trouble. However, Yeo Rin is keeping a lot of secrets from his sister and their family.
An insider revealed that the NU'EST singer was cast because he seems to be the perfect fit for the role of Yeo Hoon who "has a pure, dependable image and looks out for his sister Yeo Rin." The source added that they are looking forward to working with the multi-talented artist.
"Four Sons" will follow a female detective, played by Nana, who lost the man she loves. However, after meeting a pair of twins, she gets involved in a mysterious case.
Meanwhile, All KPop reported that Park Hae Jin will play four different characters in the upcoming mystery drama. One of his characters was identified as a "mysterious business manager."
"Four Sons" (also "Four Men") was written by Kim Jae Young, the brain behind movies such as "Wonderful Radio," "Wonderful Nightmare," and "Cheese in the Trap." The drama will be directed by Oh Jin Suk ("My Sassy Girl"). No exact release date has been announced, but filming is set to begin by early next year with an expected premiere in the first half of 2018.
