'Wynonna Earp' Season 3: Show Creator Teases 'Secrets & Lies' For Nicole Haught
Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) and Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) still have plenty of secrets to unearth, but Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell) also has some self-reflection in "Wynonna Earp" Season 3. Show creator Emily Andras hints that one-half of the #WayHaught couple will also have a rather interesting story arc in the next installment of the paranormal drama.
Season 2 left a slew of new revelations about the Earp sisters. To recap, the finale saw the lead character, Wynonna, gave birth to Alice Michelle, the daughter she had with Doc Holiday (Tim Rozon), who she sent away to Aunt Gus (Natascha Gigis). Meanwhile, Waverly has discovered that she is not a Revenant as originally thought and, in Season 3, will continue to trace her own paternity.
In addition, there was also the sudden reemergence of Wynonna and Waverly's mom, Michelle. Needless to say, the siblings have a lot on their plates in "Wynonna Earp" Season 3.
However, they are not the only ones who have a lot of conflicts to deal with in the upcoming season. In an interview with TV Line, Andas teases that Nicole will have an unexpected journey in "Wynonna Earp" Season 3.
"[Doc and Nicole] have some interesting secrets and lies coming down the pike," she explains. "Haught seems to have a file of Bulshar at the end there, so it's like, 'What does she know?'"
She adds that the show still has a lot of back stories to explore, including that of the peripheral characters. Even if the show is called "Wynonna Earp," it is clear that Andas gives importance to completely fleshing out each character on the show.
SyFy has already renewed the paranormal drama for Season 3 at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year. As of this writing, the network still has not announced an exact premiere date, but fans can expect new episodes to air sometime in 2018.
