Attack on Titan Season 3 To Explore 'Uprising' Arc?

The wait for "Attack on Titan" Season 3 will be long, but it looks like it will be worth it. According to rumors, the popular anime series might adapt one of the tensest story arcs from the best-selling manga of the same title. [Warning: Potential "Attack on Titan" Season 3 Spoilers Ahead]

Production for Season 3 has yet to start, but the Internet is already speculating about what they might see from the next installment of the anime series. One of the most popular theories involves the "Uprising" arc which, for fans who have read the manga, saw the heroes of the manga-anime series work together to overthrow the government, according to Christian Today.

"Uprising" began shortly after the events of "Attack on Titan" Season 2. In the manga, it was Erwin, who recently got his arm cut off, who devised a plan to overthrow the government and place Historia (formerly Krista) as the rightful leader.

Considering that the secret history of Historia has already been explored in Season 2, the "Uprising" in Season 3 is a real possibility. Moreover, the "Attack on Titan: Character Directory Guidebook" is evidence to the character's bigger role in the story of humanity against the Titans. 

The new book, which recently became available all across Japan, features Hajime Isayama, the man behind the "Attack on Titan" manga. The popular Japanese artist was able to talk about the background and development of each character, including Historia. 

In the report by Crunchy Roll, Isayama reveals that he used to not like Historia. However, the character's growth throughout her training up to the point that she joined the Survey Corps gained the manga artist's respect.  

"Initially 'a high-class person but able to get into the Top 10 of the Training Corps' vague sort of image," he said. "But in the end, Historia surpasses that meta-type element and matures, and become a character (that I) liked."

"Attack on Titan" Season 3 will premiere some time in 2018. In the meantime, watch the short teaser released by Funimation below.
