LG V30 New Flagship Boasts P-OLED Display, f/1.6 Aperture Camera Lens, New ESS Quad DAC 32-Bit
South Korean company LG Electronics is set to launch its upcoming V30 flagship smartphone with P-OLED display screen, f/1.6 aperture crystal clear lens and DSLR-like controls. The company scheduled a press event at IFA in Berlin, Germany on Aug. 31.
The same date is likely to be the launching day of the next flagship smartphone called LG V30. Early prototype of the device revealed several technical specifications, such as f/1.6 aperture camera lens, P-OLED display screen with QHD display resolution and new ESS quad DAC, according to UnderKG.
LG V30 will be the first Android smartphone to have a camera with f/1.6 aperture crystal clear lens that works on several specialized camera effects. These camera effects include the new Cine Video and Live Zoom, DSLR-like controls LG-Log and Graphy feature usually found in professional cameras, and others based from previous models like manual video mode and Hi-Fi video recording, according to Android Authority.
In order to produce high quality recordings, LG will also add several audio improvements including the new ESS quad Digital-to-Analog Converter 32-bit and Hi-Fi video recording with RAM to connect external microphone on the V30. Upgrades of Audio Zoom and Wind Noise Filter technologies based from LG V20 are expected to be included on the upcoming flagship as well.
One prominent feature on the user interface is the Floating Bar, which is similar to the secondary display found on the top of smartphones' main screen. This second screen effect is already available on LG V20 allowing users to access contacts, shortcuts and notifications between applications. There is no confirmation yet if the smartphone will run Android O 8.0 version.
The preliminary technical specifications of LG V30 include 6.0 inches of QHD P-OLED FullVision display screen, dual camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, 32 GB/ 64 GB/ 128 GB internal storage, 3200 mAh battery, fingerprint sensor, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and HDR 10 support. The smartphone also features IP68 certification for dust-tight protection and water resistance for up to 30 minutes under 1.5 meters of water.
