EXO's 'Ko Ko Bop' Tops 155 iTunes Charts Worldwide
There is no doubt that EXO's comeback "The War" is a major success but its current performance in the iTunes charts is truly cementing the K-pop's group's position all around the world. EXO's latest album has made it to #1 in a total of 155 iTunes charts worldwide.
According to a report by XSportNews, EXO's "Ko Ko Bop" reached 155 iTunes charts in the world. This means that the title track of "The War" placed at #1 of iTunes pop charts, single charts, album charts and K-pop charts worldwide.
EXO also managed to chart another massive achievement on the iTunes album charts. "The War" managed to reach the top spot in 41 album charts in the world, proving the strong support from EXO-Ls worldwide. This is the highest achievement for any K-pop act, making the album a hit not only in Korea but also in various parts of the world.
The iTunes records are not the only achievement that "The War" can boast of. EXO also outdid its personal best in terms of youtube views, SBS Pop Asia reported.
When EXO's title track "Ko Ko Bop" came out last July 18, it garnered some 8.8 million views on youtube. This is easily double the performance of its previous title track "Monster" which only garnered 4.48 million in its first 24 hours.
With this performance "Ko Ko Bop" only trails four other acts who have posted more views in the first 24 hours. BLACKPINK's "As If Its Your Last" recently took first place and BTS' "Not Today" landed on the second spot. Another hot ticket on YouTube, TWICE's "Knock Knock" took the third spot while BTS's "Spring Day" from its Wings album also takes the fourth spot.
EXO's "The War" is one of the most anticipated comebacks in the K-pop scene because it showcases a different side to EXO members from their previous albums. This is also a very significant album since this comes at the time that EXO is celebrating their fifth debut anniversary.
