Park Chanyeol is one of the members of the K-pop male group EXO.

Many celebrities mourned the loss of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington. One of those who mourned and paid tribute to the singer was K-pop male group EXO member Park Chanyeol, who is professionally known as Chanyeol.

Shortly after the sad news, Chanyeol took to Instagram to share a video of his cover of Linkin Park's song, "Heavy" with a piano arrangement by studio 519 and Hyomin Han. In the caption, the EXO member wrote, "Your music will forever be my aspiration. R.I.P. Chester Bennington."

Linkin Park released "Heavy" on Feb. 26 and was introduced as the first single of the band's latest album "One More Light." Brad Delson, Mike Shinoda, Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels were Bennington's co-writers of the single, which featured guest vocals from pop singer and songwriter Kiiara.

Nielsen Music declared "Heavy" as Linkin Park's third most streamed song with on-demand 684,000 audio streams on July 20, Thursday, following Bennington's death, Billboard has learned. The most stream song was "In the End" with 923,000 streams followed by "Numb" with 740,000 streams.

Bennington was found dead in his private residence in Palos Verdes Estates, Los Angeles County, California, TMZ reported. According to the police, the investigation revealed that singer committed suicide by hanging.

The Linkin Park frontman had reportedly been struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. He was rather vocal about his condition and even opened up about it in various interviews in the past, confessing that he was so depressed that sometimes he had thought of taking his own life.

After Bennington's death, Linkin Park decided to cancel their upcoming concert tour. Bennington is survived by his wife, Talinda Ann Bentley, and six children.

Meanwhile, Chanyeol and his fellow EXO members recently kicked off their comeback with the release of their fourth album "The War" with its title track "Ko Ko Bop." The K-pop group has started its promotions and performed its first comeback stage this week.
