Girls Generation's Seohyun’s Supporters Claim 'Bad Thief, Good Thief' Acting Criticisms Untrue
Girls Generation's Seohyun is one the Kpop idols whose journey into the acting world was met with several criticisms. Recently, some netizens highlighted her performance in the drama "Bad Thief, Good Thief" given the improvements in the singer's acting.
When casting news for Girls Generation's Seohyun in the drama "Bad Thief, Good Thief" was first announced, avid K-drama fans slammed the Kpop idol's inclusion in MBC's long-running weekend series. Critics claimed that the songstress lacked the acting talent to portray a lead role in a TV drama.
Nearly two months after the said drama premiered, many netizens praised Girls Generation's Seohyun given the improvements in her acting in "Bad Thief, Good Thief." Netizen comments posted on Soompi mentioned how the Kpop idol has been "putting in the effort to improve" herself amidst the negative feedback. Some supporters even stated how the singer used to look "awkward" while acting but the stiffness disappeared as the MBC drama progressed.
"Bad Thief, Good Thief," tells the story of the remaining descendants of Korean activists whose ancestors were known to have hidden several treasures during the Japanese colonial rule. Girls Generation's Seohyun portrays the role of the upstanding So Joo, a former policewoman turned investigator who tries to fight abusive and corrupt officials. Kim Ji Hoon and Ji Hyun Woo play estranged adoptive brothers where the former became an investigator while the latter is a thief similar to the iconic Robin Hood.
Meanwhile, Girls Generation's Seohyun would need to balance filming commitments and promotional activities in the coming months. Given the upcoming comeback of the said girl group, the songstress will need to complete shooting scenes for "Bad Thief, Good Thief" and preparing for the band's special anniversary performances, All Kpop reported. The Kpop group will celebrate its 10th year anniversary in August and is expected to delight fans with several onstage performances to cap off the said milestone.
