Even before Super Junior makes its much-anticipated comeback later this year, the move has been met with as much controversy as excitement. Super Junior's leader Leeteuk recently took to Instagram to share his feelings about the recent events surrounding the comeback.

In a post on Instagram,  Leeteuk addressed some fans' disappointment when they saw that there were only four members of Super Junior who took the stage at the SM Town Live Tour. The Super Junior member hinted that he too missed the times when he and his fellow members entertained the fans in full force, Koreaboo reported.

Only Shindong, Heechul, Yesung, and Leeteuk were able to take the stage at the event because members Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Siwon are still completing their duties in the military. Eunhyuk and Donghae are due for discharge this month while Siwon will finish his mandatory service next month. Super Junior's youngest members Ryeowook still has a year left of service while maknae Kyuhyun has only started with his military training this year, Korea Portal reported.

"The fact that time passes.. is both sad and beautiful....I'd like to say thank you to everyone for persevering and withstanding everything," Super Junior's Leeteuk said. "Just wait, we'll be back."

It has earlier been reported that Super Junior will be staging a comeback later in the year with eight members after its members complete their two-year mandatory service. However, plans have changed after Sungmin withdrew from the SM Town events after fans threatened a boycott if he was going to be included.

ELFs (Everlasting Friends), the official fandom of Super Junior, has expressed displeasure over Sungmin's inclusion in the Super Junior comeback after they recalled how he disregarded the fans' position in his handling of his relationship with his now-wife Kim Sa Eun. Fans were originally offended about how inconsiderate he was to other members in flaunting his relationship and how he disrespected fans by using the nickname given to him by the fans as a pet name for his then girlfriend. SM Entertainment's sub-label SJ Town confirmed that Sungmin and Kangin, who was also recently involved in a DUI scandal, will no longer be part of the planned comeback.
