‘K-Pop Star 6’ Alum Kriesha Chu, BTOB, VIXX To Perform In Manila
Filipino fans are in for a treat on July 7, Friday. "K-Pop Star 6" alum Kriesha Chu, who is of Filipino-American descent, BTOB and VIXX will be performing at "Mission I: Super Pop Con 2017" at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines on the said date.
BTOB and VIXX are not the only K-Pop groups performing at "Mission I: Super Pop Con 2017." B1A4, B.A.P, BIG and Pentagon are also in the lineup.
"Mission I: Super Pop Con 2017" is a K-Pop event for a cause. In collaboration with Filipino democratic party PDP Laban, the event will help fund the building of drug rehabilitation and renewal centers across the Philippines, according to Billboard.
There are still no details whether or not Chu's fellow KWINS members Kim So Hee and Kim Hye Rim will be at "Mission I: Super Pop Con 2017" as guests. Their group was the runner-up on the final season of "K-Pop Star 6."
Aired from Nov. 20, 2016 to April 9, "K-Pop Star 6" was the last season of the SBS talent show with JYP founeer Park Jin Young, YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk, and Antenna founder Yeo Hee Yeol as judges. KWINS failed to beat the BOYFRIEND duo consisting of Park Hyun jin and Kim Jong Seob.
A month after the "Mission I: Super Pop Con 2017" concert in the Philippines, BTOB will be in Malaysia for another concert. The seven-member K-Pop boy band is in the lineup of the new music festival called K-Wave Music Festival, which will take place on at Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon on Aug. 5, according to The Malay Mail Online.
Three performers have been confirmed to be featured at K-Wave Music Festival, which is presented by operator company Mcalls. Aside from BTOB, Apink and Highlight will be in the lineup, as well.
BTOB, Apink and Highlight have all performed in Malaysia before. Three more K-Pop acts are expected to join them in the K-Wave Music Festival lineup.
