The original queen of Korean pop music recently kicked off her comeback with the release of two new songs and 10-track album. Lee Hyori continues to awe fans with her musical ideas and has updated fans on what the current artists she is interested in.

Lee Hyori recently attended the press conference for her new album, “Black”. It has been four years since she released an album and fans are impressed with the songs she has come up with. The singer reportedly personally worked on her new album as a co-producer, composed, and even wrote the lyrics of most of her songs on her new album. Lee Hyori revealed various new sides to her in the new album, each concept unique and hugely different from the image she used to depict. She revealed that unlike her previous albums that were mostly about her, the new album tells stories she wants to share to the world.

Lee Hyori was then asked who she thinks accurately followed her footsteps as the one of South Korea's top female artist. She chose IU as the one who she thinks is the new Lee Hyori. She explained that she can see IU in herself because the young singer has her own concept and colors of music. IU and Lee Hyori recently bonded when the former participated in JTBC’s reality variety show “Hyori’s Home Stay” and stayed as a help for a couple of weeks to Lee Hyori and her husband.

Meanwhile, Lee Hyori has also revealed that she has her eyes set on MAMAMOO. She praised the said girl group, explaining as well that they have a special energy whenever they are on stage. She pointed out that this kind of energy or presence is something certain people are born with and it has nothing to do with practice. As an artist that worked in South Korea’s highly competitive music industry, she also made sure to remind young artists that there is more to life than their present situation.
