BTS and TWICE have been chosen as the most popular K-pop groups among young Koreans between ages 20-50. This came as the unsurprising result of a survey conducted the recently by the PMI research company.

According to Koreaboo, some 5,047 Koreans were surveyed on who they thought were the leading K-pop groups in the market right now. TWICE topped the survey 33.7 percent of the respondents' votes.

BTS closely followed with 20.4 percent of the respondents believing they are the top K-pop group. MAMAMOO who recently staged their comeback placed third in the survey as they nabbed 15.5 percent of the votes.

This was not the first time that BTS and TWICE were voted the most popular K-pop groups. It can be recalled that when leading entertainment labels were asked to vote whom they thought was the most successful K-pop group, they voted BTS almost unanimously for the male K-pop groups while TWICE also topped the female category of the survey, Kpopstarz reported. Both groups have also been consistently leading brand reputation surveys conducted among advertisers and their target market.

BTS and TWICE have also been consistently topping viewing records on youtube and enjoy strong support from their fandoms ARMY and ONCE. Incidentally, both groups are leading a fresh hallyu wave in Japan.

BTS' Japanese version of "Blood, Sweat and Tears" topped the prestigious Japanese Oricon chart with strong sales for two weeks straight. TWICE's latest release in Japan also made it to the top of the Oricon chart and sold 100,000 copies of their album in the short span of four days, SBS Pop Asia reported.

Japan has also fallen in love with the charms of TWICE members, particularly their maknae Tzuyu who only appeared for a few seconds in their appearance in Japanese music show Music Station to introduce themselves and immediately became a trending topic.
