While things are shaping up to be a family vs. family theme in "Supernatural" Season 13, with Jack expected to continue Lucifer's evil plans, there are some pundits who are thinking that the show might pull a surprise. Instead of having Jack become the Winchester's greatest enemy, he could prove to be a surprising ally.

While there are speculations that Jack will eventually take after his father Lucifer and form an allegiance with him against Sam and Dean, there are also factors that hint that Jack could be a wildcard in "Supernatural" Season 13. It can be recalled after all, that Jack's human mother was killed by his father and while Jack matured from being a literal baby to a young man in a matter of minutes, it may be unclear which side of the battle he will stand on.

Some rumors hint that Jack could be the wild card that the Winchesters need to turn the tide against Lucifer once and for all. After all, it has been confirmed by actor Mark Shappard himself that the King of Hell, Crowley will not be making a return to the franchise at any juncture, at least for now. This means that "Supernatural" Season 13 will be in need of another character to fill his shoes as the Winchesters' occasional ally and most of the times enemy.

There are also rumors that it will be Jack to bring Castiel back to life. Actor Misha Collins, who plays the role has confirmed that he will be returning to "Supernatural" Season 13 to continue his journey with Sam and Dean. However, at the end of "Supernatural" Season 12, the angel was killed by an angel blade, Digital Spy reported.

It remains to be seen how Castiel will be making his return to the upcoming season but Collins has hinted that fans should be prepared for some changes in the Castiel who makes a comeback. "Supernatural" is expected to return to The CW this October as part of the network's fall lineup.
