Nicki Minaj won the BET Award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist from 2010 to 2016. Her winning streak ended when the award was given to Remy Ma at the most recent installment of the annual awards that celebrate the African Americans' achievements in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment.

Aside from Minaj, three other artists lost to Ma in the Best Female Hip Hop Artist category at the 2017 BET Awards, which was held on June 25, Sunday, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. They were Cardi B, Missy Elliot and Young M.A.

It was Elliot who won the award from 2001 to 2004 but Ma ended her winning streak in 2005. Elliot won the award again in 2006 and 2008 then the award was given to M.I.A. in 2009 before Minaj's seven-year winning streak.

Before the 2017 BET Awards, Ma was in Beverly Hills, California. She attended the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards on June 22, Thursday.

During the event, Ma talked about her ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage in 2016. The experience led to her plans to launch a foundation for women who cannot afford fertility treatments.

"I was really confused because you can use Medicaid, or other government funded programs like Planned Parenthood, to get an abortion," Ma told Entertainment Tonight. The problem is that there is nothing to financially assist women who would like to conceive, the "All the Way Up" rapper said.

Meanwhile, Minaj was recently in Queens, New York, to receive the Key to the City from Borough president Melinda Katz, Pitchfork reported. The rapper was born in Trinidad and Tobago but her family moved to Queens when she was five.

The recent BET Awards win of Ma is expected to be the end of her feud with Minaj. Recently, the latter took shots on the latter with her verse on "Realize," her collaboration song with 2 Chainz.
