‘Riverdale’ Season 2 Spoilers: Hiram Lodge To Shake Things Up In The New Season

"Riverdale" already concluded its first season. A lot of events unfolded during the season finale of the series. There seems to be more danger in the upcoming "Riverdale" Season 2 and the show has been confirmed to return. As for the renewal date, the showrunners have not revealed any details yet.

It can be recalled that Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) expressed their love towards each other. Archie (KJ Apa) has a more dramatic ending since his dad has been shot at Pop's in the finale episode of "Riverdale" Season 1.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared some thoughts on the finale of "Riverdale" Season 1 and hints on the second season. Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) had been shot and it is not clear if he lives or dies. Aguirre-Sacasa noted that fans will have to wait until the second season to know what happens to Fred according to TV Line.

He also hinted that the incident on Fred's shooting will affect Archie deeply and will be shown in "Riverdale" Season 2. Archie's character will evolved from being the boy that he is in the first season to the man he will become in the upcoming shows.

Meanwhile, Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) is also hinted to be coming in "Riverdale" Season 2. In fact, Archie and Veronica (Camila Mendes) will be challenged once Hiram gets in the picture. There still are more challenges to come for the characters once the next season kicks in.

There is no official air date for "Riverdale" Season 2 yet. However, it is confirmed that the show will start production next month as reported by DigitalSpy. It is hinted that the first episode of the second season will right away start from the events in the first season's finale.

It can be expected that the first episode of "Riverdale" Season 2 may be dark because of the violent turn of events from Season 1. The original cast will remain, but there are hints of Reggie leaving the show because of Ross Butler's schedule.

Fans and followers could expect more things when "Riverdale" Season 2 returns. As for the rumor that Molly Ringwald might come around, the showrunners has not revealed any details about Molly's return to the series.
