‘As If It’s Your Last’ Makes Black Pink The K-Pop Group To Watch Out For
Black Pink recently made a comeback with a new song titled "As If It's Your Last." Apparently, their fans missed the members of the group so much that they helped them establish a new record.
The music video of "As If It's Your Last" was viewed 10 million times only after about 17 hours since it was posted on YouTube. This made Black Pink the first K-Pop group to reach 10 million views mark the fastest in one YouTube video, according to All Kpop.
Moreover, the "As If It's Your Last" music video ranked second among YouTube videos by a Korean artist with the most views within 24 hours since release. The top rank belongs to the music video of "Gentleman" by Psy.
Released on June 22, Thursday, "As If It's Your Last" is the fifth single released by Black Pink. It was a comeback song of the K-Pop girl group whose fourth single was released on Nov. 1, 2006.
Like Black Pink, Psy also recently came back after going on hiatus. The rapper released his eighth studio album titled "4X2=8" on May 10, which was more than one year since the release of his seventh studio album titled "Chiljib PSY-Da."
"4X2=8" contained 10 songs. Unlike "Chiljib PSY-Da," most of the songs in Psy's eighth studio album were written and composed by artists from YG Entertainment, the entertainment agency that formed Black Pink.
Among the songs in "4X2=8" were "I Luv It" and "New Face." Lee Byung Hun and Apink member Son Na Eun, who is professionally known as Naeun, were featured in the music videos of "I Luv It" and "New Face," respectively.
"I thought it would look great and fresh, so I called and asked her to be in my music video," Psy told Billboard explaining why he included Naeun in the "New Face" music video. "She accepted."
Up until now, Psy still holds the record for the fastest music video to reach 100 million YouTube views with the "Gentleman" music video. With the success of "As If It's Your Last," Black Pink still has a chance to break this record.
