NU’EST Is Nominated On Next Week’s Inkigayo For 2013 Song 'Hello'

After the success of 'Produce 101 Season 2' where 4 members of NU'EST participated in, the 5-year-old boy group from Pledis Entertainment has risen in popularity. Kim Jonghyun was a favorite but after only 1 NU'EST member made it to the top 11, fans of the show protested and took to music streaming charts to boost NU'EST's popularity. Surprisingly, it worked - and now an old track, 'Hello' is even up for a win on Inkigayo next week.

An old NU'EST song, 'Hello' was released in 2013 but was back again on music charts after the finale of 'Produce 101 Season 2'. 'Hello' took the 3rd spot on Melon, 2nd on Bugs, and the top spot on Genie. But it wasn't just 'Hello' that came back on the charts - some of their other previously released songs leaped back into the top 100 on charts too like 'Daybreak', 'Love Paint', 'Thank You' and 'Look'. It seems that their goal of being popular again through 'Produce 101 Season 2' was achieved despite 3 members not making it to the final top 11.

The good news doesn't end there for NU'EST - 'Hello' is also nominated for July 2's episode of Inkigayo. Pre-voting for the July 2 episode runs from June 19 to June 24 and if 'Hello' gets enough SNS and album sales points, NU'EST could bag their first ever win since their debut. While NU'EST isn't actively promoting, they are up against active groups next week like DAY6, NCT 127, Monsta X, 9 Muses and ASTRO.

Inkigayo's criteria for the winning song includes pre-show votes, digital sales points, physical album sales points, SNS points, and live SMS voting points. Since NU'EST is in the running for the winning song, new fans of the group mobilized a campaign to stream 'Hello' on music charts and their music video on Youtube. Win or no win, we wish NU'EST the best not just on Inkigayo but in their upcoming endeavors as well.
