‘Pokemon Stars’ News & Update: Game Freak Announces Pokemon RPG Game On The Way
Nine days ago, Pokemon fans were disappointed that "Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" won't be making it to the Nintendo Switch. However, chances of a core Pokemon game gracing the Nintendo Switch now seems to be a possibility.
The Pokemon Company was one of the participating major presenters in this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Surely, they didn't disappoint with their E3 presentation, especially for the Nintendo Switch owners.
In a report by Kotaku, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" developers Game Freak has confirmed that the new version of the 2016 smash hit Pokemon game, "Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" would only release for the Nintendo 3DS. This contradicts the rumors that we've been hearing for weeks now that a mainline Pokemon game would be released for the Nintendo Switch sooner, rather than later.
During The Pokemon Company's presentation, president Tsunekazu Ishihara made an announcement in regards to Game Freak currently developing a core RPG Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch. Sadly, the only detail provided by Ishihara is that the upcoming Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch is that "may not release for more than a year."
Many do speculate that Tsunekazu Ishihara was referring to "Pokemon Stars." It was November of last year where "Pokemon Stars" was first heard. It started out as a codename for the third title launch of "Pokemon Sun and Moon." Game Freak was also reportedly developing "Pokemon Stars," so it's not a long shot to assume that Ishihara is indeed referring to "Pokemon Stars."
As of now, the only confirmed Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch is "Pokken Tournament DX." It is scheduled for release on September 22, 2017.
