Moto M2 Update: Spotted To Sport Helio P20, 4GB RAM
Lenovo-led Motorola is speculated to be working on a new smartphone this year and the successor to last year's Moto M. The upcoming device which is dubbed to be, 'Moto M2' is expected to launch by fall of 2017.
As can be recalled, Lenovo-backed Motorola launched a mid-range line-up of smartphones including the Moto M in this segment. The smartphones primarily shot to attention in the Chinese and Indian markets. Now, a new online report published by Gizbot seems to be carrying what they claim is a leaked image of the upcoming Moto M2 smartphone. This picture was leaked earlier this month, on June 1st.
On the basis of this picture, the speculated Moto M2 smartphone is seen as carrying the model number: Lenovo XT1902-3. The device was apparently first spotted on the bench-marking website, Geekbench as per what BGR had to report. It is interesting to note how even thought the smartphone is going to be backed by Lenovo, the device is seen as carrying the Motorola brand along with the XT model number.
According to another report published by The Android Soul, the upcoming Moto M2 smartphone is expected to come equipped with MediaTek M6797 chipset based on Helio P20. In comparison to the original Moto M, which was based on Helio P10 in China and Helio P15 in India, this appears to be an enhanced bump. Moreover, the smartphone is expected to offer 4GB of RAM. There is no word on the internal storage as yet.
The Moto M2 smartphone is shown to be running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. On the benchmarking website, the device managed to score 1,163 on single-core test and 4,836 in multi-core test. Motorola seems to be gearing up for 2017 especially given the number of smartphones that the company is believed to planning on bringing in.
