Redmond tech giant Microsoft recently launched its revamped Surface Pro line equipped with the latest Intel processors along with a number of other upgrades as well. This puts the Surface Pro in direct competition with Apple's MacBook Pro. Let's take a look at both the devices and see which one fares well.
Design - As reported by MacWorld, the MacBook Pro - which was redesigned back in 2016 - packs an extremely sleek and modern look. The gadget features an ageless aluminum body and its construction is simply exemplary. The Surface Pro, on the other hand, falls in a different league altogether. When it comes to technicality, the Surface Pro is not really a laptop, but giving that the company provides one with the option of purchasing a keyboard cover, really makes the device compelling.
Specifications - The comparison made by Trusted Reviews suggests that the Apple MacBook Pro packs a 13-inch display with either 2.0GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 chip or 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 chip and an enhanced Touch-Bar interface. The chips on both the systems hail from the sixth generation of Intel Core chips, called Skylake. This is what makes extremely powerful. Microsoft - on the other hand, opted for the seventh-gen Kaby Lake chips, putting their systems on a slightly higher level than the former.
As reported by Pocket Lint, the Apple MacBook Pro packs a 256GB PCIe-based onboard SSD along with a built-in 54.5-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery that is estimated to last for up to 10 hours wirelessly. The Surface Pro, on the other hand, comes in several options including 128, 256, 512 and 1TB SSD.
Release date - As for the release date, the MacBook Pro was launched sometime last year and the Microsoft Surface Pro was launched recently and is beginning to start shipping from 15th June onwards.
