‘Descendants Of The Sun’ Alums SHINee’s Onew, Kim Min Suk Reunite In ‘Age Of Youth 2’

Pre-production activities for JTBC's upcoming coming-of-age drama "Age of Youth 2" is currently ongoing. Recently, casting updates for the said series revealed the confirmed participation of the "Descendants of the Sun" actors SHINee's Onew and Kim Min Suk.

"Age of Youth" became one of the hit 2016 dramas that aired on JTBC given its storyline that tackled the challenges of young females as they go through college life. "Age of Youth 2" is set to showcase the continuing adventures of beloved characters as they follow their dreams. Avid Kdrama fans can look forward to seeing SHINee's Onew and Kim Min Suk as two of the said drama's new cast members.

Earlier reports hinted at SHINee's Onew being offered a role in the upcoming "Age of Youth 2." However, his participation in the said JTBC production was only confirmed recently, Korean news outlet SE Daily reported. The Kpop idol will even reunite with his former "Descendants of the Sun" co-star Kim Min Suk who was also identified to play a key role in the said series.

Kim Min Suk will portray Jang Hoon, a young man tasked by the owner of the share house to look after the property. Meanwhile, SHINee's Onew will play the engineering student Ho Chang in the upcoming drama "Age of Youth 2." Described as a neophyte when it comes to relationships, the said character will form a love line with Ye Eun (Kara alum Han Seung Yeon).

In other news, some of the main cast members of the JTBC drama have agreed to join "Age of Youth 2." Apart from Han Seung Yeon, "Six Flying Dragons" actress Han Ye Ri and "Operation Proposal" star Park Eun Bin will reprise their roles as Jin Myung and Ji Won, respectively.

"Age of Youth" cast member Park Hye Soo was also set to re-portray her role as Eun Jae but had to rescind her decision due to scheduling conflicts. Replacing the said actress in "Age of Youth 2" will be Ji Woo who is known for her roles in the movies "Fists of Legend," "Cart" and others, Xports News reported. The upcoming drama will also star Choi Ara who will play Jo Eun, a young lady who will move into the main leads' share house.

"Age of Youth 2" is expected to start filming activities soon. The said drama is slated to premiere in August on JTBC.
