Moto Z2 Play Hands-On: An Ultimate Android Monster With Cutting-Edge Specs

The Lenovo-backed smartphone manufacturer recently took the wraps off its much-awaited Moto Z2 Play smartphone. The recently-launched device serves as the successor to its last year's Moto Z Play smartphone. While the latter didn't exactly pave the way for the company as expected; the company hopes that the unfinished job will be completed by the former this year. One of the many highlights of the upcoming smartphone is its modular design that comes packed with decent specifications at an affordable price.

According to a report published by The Verge, the newly-launched mid-range modular smartphone Moto Z2 Play sports a modular design tagged along with an amiable design. As for the display size, the device packs a 5.5-inch display, that further allows users to equip their smartphones with the company's Moto Mods as well. The main difference between last year's Moto Z and this year's Moto Z2 Play is its thickness. The smartphone sports a much thinner look, i.e. 6mm thick and weighs only about 145 grams.

According to another report published by NDTV, the display further sports a super-AMOLED capacitive touch-screen display and 1080 x 1920 pixel density. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 626, the smartphone further comes in 3GB to 4GB RAM of options and 32GB ROM to 64GB ROM options. The smartphone runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 right-out-of-the-box.

According to another report published by DNA, the smartphone packs an impressive camera with 5MP front snapper along with a 12MP rear shooter. Other interesting features of the smartphone include its improved front-mounted fingerprint scanner along with the traditional 3.5mm jack as well. Like mentioned previously, the smartphone comes with support for Moto Mods, which makes it even more convenient for users to ensure that their user-experience is made superior. The smartphone is priced at $499 and will be available for purchase starting this summer.
