iPhone 8 Release Date, News & Update

iPhone 8 official details on specs, features, design and build have not been released yet by Apple, and reports about the highly-premium phone are relying mostly on leaks and rumors. Recently, a new report that supposedly reveals the iPhone 9 specs seems to give an idea of what the 2017 iPhone will be.

iPhone 8 Will Be The Most Premium Of The 2017 Lineup

The iPhone 8 is rumored to come in two versions, which is contrary to the previous reports suggesting three iPhone models that are set to arrive this year: the regular iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus and the iPhone 8. Meantime, iPhone 9 will reportedly boast of a 5.28-inch screen that is expected to replace the 4.7-inch version, including the supersized 6.46-inch display that will be iPhone Plus' 2018 model.

According to reports, the iPhone 8 details were gathered from the business agreement between Samsung and Apple, in which the former is set to provide OLED shipment to 180 million units.  Experts believe that Apple's move to completely integrate OLED on its iPhone series is an initiative that begins with the iPhone 8 this year. As such, it provides more basis for the assumption that the new iPhone 8 will the be most premium of the lineup this year, given an OLED display coming out of the box, BGR reported.

iPhone 8 Rumors Affect Current iPhone Sales

iPhone 8 rumors are affecting the current iPhone sales, according to Apple CEO Tim Cook. Meantime, the unofficial prototype provides an idea of what the upcoming iPhone 8 would look like.

In a recently released video, some of the rumored features of iPhone 8 were included such as the vertical dual-cameras, a virtual fingerprint sensor, and an edge-to-edge OLED screen. Although the model handset is believed to be based on rumored iPhone 8 schematics, it is also a non-working version, which means the viewers will not have the chance to see the screen on, CNET reported.
