Seventeen Wows Audience With New Image In Comeback Showcase

Seventeen boy band has recently made a new record by selling more than 190,000 copies of its latest album entitled "Al1." The album was released on May 22 and its lead track "Don't Wanna Cry" is topping major Korean music charts.

Based on the data collected by the Hanteo Information System, Seventeen placed first in terms of K-pop album sales records for the week of May 22 to 28. The results made the group as the fastest album seller among the Kpop artists, having sold more than a hundred thousand within just a week, Korea Herald reported.

The new record means a lot to Seventeen since they were able to beat the likes of BTS and EXO. The two said boy bands have always been chart topper these days.

"AI1" is Seventeen's fourth mini-album and it offers a total of eight songs including the title track. Upon release, it quickly ranks no. 1 on iTunes' Top Album charts in the Philippines, Singapore, and Indonesia. On the other hand, it is on iTunes top 10 in Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Japan.

What's more, as of May 31, Seventeen's "Don't Wanna Cry" music video has already gathered over 8.1 million views on YouTube. Seventeen debuted with "17 Carat" EP in 2015 and the band enjoyed success since the beginning.

Meanwhile, Billboard notes that there are noticeable changes in Seventeen's music style. The publication stated that the group's new album clearly displayed their maturity in music.

"Gone are the days of funky pop goodness from Seventeen -- at least with their most recent EP Al1," Billboard author Tamar Herman wrote. "The Korean boy band delved deep into trendy electropop for Al1 and lead track 'Don't Wanna Cry' takes Seventeen in a new direction, veering away from their bright, brassy singles of the past two years."

Seventeen is composed of 13 members and they are Vernon, Joshua, Jun, Woozi, Mingyu, Dino, The8, DK, Seungkwan, Hoshi, S.Coups, Jeonghan, and Wonwoo.
