Tension regarding whether torrent websites will continue to flourish keep rising each passing day. Rumors and speculations indicating that the torrent websites might vanish from the face of the internet have been leading torrent users as well as torrent website owners to panic. As indicated by several online reports, there is a high possibility of torrent websites such as BitSnoop.com, The Pirate Bay, KickAss Torrents, ExtraTorrent, Kodi and LimeTorrents of being banned altogether. However, there hasn't been any official confirmation regarding the same.

According to reports, even though the jeopardy that torrent websites might be in, is quite evident; there haven't been any confirmations from the side of the owners of the aforementioned websites or government organizations suggesting that they might be scrapped off from the online platform altogether. However, search giants like Google and Microsoft have been indicating several-a-times, that they plan on introducing a feature in their respective platforms, i.e. Chrome and Windows 10, that will specifically work on eradicating such illegal forms of downloads. As per the Daily Mail Internet Service Providers including Virgin Media and Sky already gave a warning to Torrent users.

However, users must note that this isn't the first time that websites like The Pirate Bay, KickAss Torrents, Torrentz2, ExtraTorrent, Torrents.me, Zoogle, BitSnoop.Com, LimeTorrents and Kodi have been under fire. In the past, there were many incidents wherein websites like The Pirate Bay, KickAss Torrents and ExtraTorrents were eradicated but this was soon followed by them being back on track as soon as they were able to dodge the technology that prevented them from functioning online.

Take ExtraTorrent for instance as the former was banned recently. However, the website was soon back on track post its removal. As mentioned previously, Microsoft recently made the headlines for patenting a new technology that is designed to identify and block torrent users from streaming files online.
