Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 News: Retains Dual Camera Setup With OLED Display
Xiaomi's Redmi Pro 2 specifications were spotted at its website Mi.com but screenshots were done even before it was pulled down.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 brings about quite a few changes when compared to its predecessor but it is expected to maintain some similarities. The brief listing of the Redmi Pro 2 revealed an imminent launch of the phone in China in the coming weeks or months.
Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will be powered by Snapdragon 660 processor, which is quite an upgrade from the MediaTek chipset carried by Redmi Pro. It will have a 3GB of RAM according to the leaked screenshots but there should be 4GB and 6GB versions as well. There is no confirmation on the Android OS, but it is likely to run on Android Nougat OS out-of-the-box.
For comparison, Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 predecessor was launched with 5.5-inch FHD OLED display, MediaTek Helio SoC, and the handset was available in two variants.
It will feature 5.5-inch OLED display similar to its predecessor. Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 retains the dual rear camera setup with 16MP sensors, which is a bumped from the 13MP of the predecessor. The phone comes with a 4100mAh battery, which is a good upgrade compared to Xiaomi Redmi Pro.
The expected price tag for Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is CNY 1199 or about $174 when it will be launched officially. Moreover, the Chinese company is reported to launch a new pair of USB Type-C earphones in China. The new USB Type-C earphones have been launched and will be going on sale in China soon.
Apart from the imminent launch of Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2, the Chinese tech firm is also busy with the launching of Mi Max 2 on May 25 in Beijing, China. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will feature a 6.4-inch full HD, Snapdragon 626 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and a massive 5000 mAh battery.
