‘Once Upon A Time’ (OUAT) Spoilers, Cast News: What To Expect After Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Josh Dallas Exit The Show In Season 6 Finale

ABC's "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) is going through a major cast shake-up. Six original characters including Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan), Emilie De Ravin (Belle), Jared Gilmore (Henry Mills) and Rebecca Mader (Zelena) are exiting the show after Season 6 finale airing on May 14. Recently, "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis released a statement announcing the exit of the six major characters. Fans know that Goodwin, Dallas, and Gilmore made their first appearance in the pilot episode. Morrison, De Ravin, Morrison, and Mader joined the show later.

In their statement, the showrunners talked about each actors' exit and how their characters reinvented Snow White, Prince Charming, Belle and other fairy-tale characters for the modern-day audience.

"Words can't do justice to what Ginny, Josh, Emilie, Rebecca and Jared brought to Once Upon a Time... but we'll try... never have we had the privilege of working with a more talented group of collaborators.  Each brought unique talent, incredible intelligence, and their own individual bit of magic as they gave life to these iconic characters," the statement read as quoted by Entertainment Weekly.

Meanwhile, the statement suggests that the characters may return to the series in future, after Season 6 finale.

"And even though we won't be with them every week, in a show about magic and hope, we fervently believe it won't be the last we see of them," the statement reads.

Fans can expect a major shift in the storyline. Following the "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) Season 6 finale, the show is expected to revolve around Regina, Rumple, and Hook. The network recently announced that the show has been officially renewed for Season 7 and Lana Parrilla, Colin O'Donoughue, and Robert Carlyle are expected to return as the main characters of the series.

In a previous interview with EW, the Executive Producer Kitsis teased the end of a few stories and an introduction to the new chapter for Season 7 in "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) Season 6 finale. The final chapter of the sixth season sees Emma goes on a war with the evil Black Fairy.

Meanwhile, "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) Season 6 finale features the introduction of two new characters played by Andrew J. West (The Walking Dead) and Alison Fernandez (Jane the Virgin). Details about their characters remain unspecified.
