'Avengers: Infinity War' Cast Update: Characters Who'll Eventually Walk Away From Franchise
These "Avengers: Infinity War" cast members will eventually move on from their respective roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The "Avengers" series brought together some of the biggest names in Hollywood thus assembling one of the most epic superhero dream teams seen on the silver screen.
It's quite unfortunate that this superhero mashup will eventually come to an end in one way or another. In an interview with USAToday, "Avengers: Infinity War" cast Chris Evans explained that he's well aware that "nothing lasts forever."
The 35-year-old actor has yet to extend his contract with Marvel but shared that he's OK with "the passing of torches." Evans mentioned that he already had "a great run" in the series and that he'll "walk away with no regrets and endlessly thankful."
The "Gifted" star also hinted at the departure of yet another iconic "Avengers: Infinity War" cast mate, Robert Downey Jr. Evans was pretty blunt in his revelation saying "Downey is far closer to reaching the point where he may walk away."
Despite his eventual departure from the series, Evans still finds it difficult to see who else can replace Downey Jr. as the iconic Tony Stark. "I don't know who else can touch that.", Evans added. There were various rumors and speculations that Downey Jr. would still reprise his role as Tony Stark in a new "Iron Man 4" film.
However, the recent revelation shows that the next "Iron Man 4" movie is less likely to happen. Furthermore, Downey Jr. himself mentioned in an interview a few years back, that "there's no plan for a fourth Iron Man.", according to CinemaBlend.
Even if both Evans and Downey Jr. eventually move on from the MCU films, they certainly won't be the last members of the "Avengers: Infinity War" cast to be leaving soon. Sources indicate that Loki actor Tom Hiddleston is already looking past his villain role in the MCU stating "I cannot play Loki forever, it's not possible."
With that said, fans should expect to see a new breed of actors real soon, who will eventually take over these superhero roles in future films. As for the fans, they could still savor the time left for these iconic "Avengers: Infinity War" cast members to shine since there's no telling if the next set of films will be their last time in the MCU.
