New recently released, Microsoft Surface laptops

May 11th, 2017: Microsoft recently released a new version of their latest operating system, the Windows 10S. The new Windows 10S promises various benefits like faster performance, cheaper price tag, and better security when compared to Windows 10.

But this new update has a serious problem that cannot be fixed and Microsoft has confirmed the same. In a surprising turn of events, Microsoft has disabled the installation of third-party software on its new OS update, Windows 10S. Instead, people can only install applications that are currently available on the Microsoft Store only. And you thought windows was better?

Right now, the Microsoft Store is wasteland that has scared all major developers away, including Google and Apple. With this new wave of compulsion coming in, it is only a matter of time before this problem gets worse.

But the biggest problem stems from the compulsion to use appropriate HTML and JavaScript engines provided by the Windows Platform only. This is a highly surprising move, considering most of the web browsers out there are not written in this language. Google Chrome and Opera Web Browser fall under this category.

This means that before you and I can use Chrome on our Windows 10S, we will have to wait for Google to rewrite the web browser as well as repackage it for the Windows Store. Not only this, Windows 10S does not allow its users to change the default web browser. That's right, you will not be able to change your default web browser, nor will you be able to change the default search engine which has been set to Bing.

Moreover, the Windows 10S update will cost you 50$ after the promotional period is over. Microsoft has not specified the meaning of "S" in Windows S but I am sure the way Microsoft is going, it stands for something that rhymes with yuck.
