SpaceX Sends ‘Constellation’ Of Internet-Providing Satellites To Space; Sets Test Launch For Falcon Heavy Rockets

SpaceX founder Elon Musk is looking at providing a worldwide broadband access to all netizens. The visionary entrepreneur plans to send a "constellation" of satellites that will provide the internet in space, including other projects like creating an Interplanetary Transport System, revolutionizing the transportation, build reusable rockets and colonize Mars.

SpaceX Applies For A License

In November 2016, SpaceX submitted an application to the FCC for a license to operate a constellation of non-geostationary satellites. According to reports, a hearing was set by the US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation to study the SpaceX proposal to develop the next-generation internet telecommunications satellites.

SpaceX is expected to achieve success in its project to send a fleet of internet satellites to space considering the company's reusable Falcon 9 rockets. However, some experts also believe that this could also become a huge challenge even for a pioneering rocket maker like SpaceX.

While SpaceX has been successful in building rockets over the years, reports suggest that the company has minimal experience when it comes to designing satellites, and would have to deal with putting a number of satellites in space. Nevertheless, the internet satellites of SpaceX may gain profits that will allow the company to finance the ultimate project of bringing humans to Mars if it becomes successful, Florida Today reported.

SpaceX Will Test Launch Falcon Heavy Rocket

SpaceX is set to test launch the Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Musk claims that it is going to be the most powerful rocket that will be in operation by a factor of 2, which can produce more than 5 pounds of thrust to launch missions to Mars, Moon and beyond.

According to reports, the Falcon Heavy of SpaceX has 27 Merlin engines, which is basically three integrated Falcon 9 rockets. This test flight vehicle also has two earlier flown Falcon 9 boosters on the sides, including a new core booster, Observer reported.
