Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, News & Update: Pro Tablet Device Might Not Arrive In Surface Event In Shanghai

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is one of the most anticipated tablet device this year. Despite of the reports suggesting that there will be no such tablet coming this time, tech enthusiasts are full of hope that this device will surely arrive this month.

Just recently, Panos Panay, one of the Surface officials at Microsoft, tweeted on his official social media account that there is an upcoming Surface event this May 23 in Shanghai. As we know, Panay is the same official who said that no Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is coming and the current Surface Pro 4 will stay. Panay didn't reveal more specific details about the upcoming Surface event in Shanghai and didn't confirm the rumored Microsoft Surface Pro 5 on the mentioned tweet. This means that the news saying no such device coming this year can still be considered true.

 According to the reports, based on the device lineup and unveiling timeline, it is expected that the Surface Pro 4 will be the next model to get an upgrade and going by the looks of it, this is literally what's going to happen on the May 23 Surface event in Shanghai. The company will not release a new Microsoft Surface Pro 5, but only an upgrade to the existing Surface Pro device configuration.

Assuming that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is coming this month's event, it might come with an upgraded specs and features, such as a 4K screen, a massive 16GB of RAM. Also, some reports claim that this new tablet device will be more powerful than the Apple iPad Pro 2.

As of now, there is no concrete information whether we will see the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 this upcoming May 23 Surface event in Shanghai. The company recently launches the new Surface Laptop and releasing another new hardware this same month seems unlikely to happen.
