‘StarCraft’ Remastered Release Date & Update: Game’s Original Version Now Available For Free
Blizzard will remaster the almost 20-year-old game, the "StarCraft," and it will launch this summer 2017. However, for the meantime, the game developer also makes the game's original version, the "Brood Wat" and the complete expansion for free.
According to the reports, Blizzard wants new players to have knowledge about the game before the "StarCraft" remastered version released. On some aspects, releasing the "Brood War" for free is also a clever idea of advertising the remastered game and attract new players in this new generation.
The Blizzard made the original "StarCraft" free so players could get some practice playing again the 19-year-old game before the developer releases in summer the remastered version of the game, Droid Report cited. Whatever reasons the Blizzard have by giving the old game for free, one thing is for sure, gamers will gonna love it.
Recently, the developer also released a new update to the "StarCraft" game. The patch 1.18 update was released to gives more improvements to the game and makes its compatibility with the latest PC systems better. It is the first PC update of the game for the past eight years and as the source stated, this new patch would also make the game playable on Mac Beta 10.11 and more modern Apple machines.
The "StarCraft" patch 1.18 update added a borderless windowed mode, tweaked some back-end code and corrected some bugs that have been long-standing, The Blizzard also included an observer mode and added UPnP support. The new patch notes for "StarCraft" remind players to use the "Run as Admin" option. It is a requirement during the first client run to migrate saves and avoid issues from Windows system admin changes.
