Yang Hyun Suk In Legal Trouble: Charged With Violation Of Municipal Building Code.
Seoul, 28th April: The police station in Seoul Mapo District confirmed the news of complaint against Yang Hyun Suk. The CEO of YG entertainment had an official police complaint filed against him because his private building was making certain building code violations, which was against the law.
According to the report, Yang Hyun Suk ended up using his private building for a different purpose, then for what it was intended to be. This change is in direct violation of the Municipal Building Code, and hence the complaint against him.
An investigator from the police station went on to say that Yang Hyun Suk had been informed about these violations a year before and was asked to take corrective actions. As no corrective action was taken by Yang Hyun Suk, he is charged with violation of the Municipal Building Code.
The private building owned by Yang Hyun Suk, had certain permissions regarding its use. The basement and the first three floors of the building were meant for public commercial use while the rest of the floors were for residential use. However, the building's third floor was still being used for residential purposes. This is the reason why a complaint was filed against Yang Hyun Suk.
Yang Hyun Suk was summoned by the Police on April 17 for questioning. The CEO of YG entertainment also released a public statement about the issue, he said - "I did not have time to make the required changes because the charges were filed before I received the notice for corrective action. I will take the quickest course of action possible. All of the other penalized buildings in the Hongdae area have undergone corrections. I am sorry"
Yang Hyun Suk was also investigated in 2015, for violation of the Municipal Building Code while expanding the YG Entertainment Building.
