Netflix and Other Studios Compromised: Hacker Leaks Orange Is The New Black Season 5

San Francisco: A hacker who goes by the name, Dark Overlord is confirmed to have hacked into Netflix's servers. The hacker made a threat to release several episodes of the Netflix's original series, Orange is the New Black. The episodes leaked by Dark OverLord are from the upcoming season of the show, Season 5. Dark Overlord claims to have other studios compromised as well.

Dark OverLord had announced about the same through his twitter handle early on Saturday. The post included a link to an illegal file-sharing website. The file sharing service was hosting 10 episodes of the fifth season of Orange is the New Black. This link was a confirmation that Dark Overlord had Netflix and other studios compromised. The episodes could be easily downloaded from the file sharing service.

The New Season of the hit Netflix original series, Orange is the New Black was scheduled for an official release on June 9. The recent leak could potentially make a dent in Netflix's subscriber growth. The studios' compromised state poses a threat to the company's stock price as well.

The hacker, Dark overlord had been demanding an unspecified ransom amount from Netflix in exchange for not releasing the episodes prematurely, before the actual date of release. The lack of communication from Netflix's side, lead many to believe that the hacker did not have the studios compromised, alas but he did.

The hacker claims to have other studios compromised as well. Apart from other material stolen from Netflix, the hacker claims to have material from other studios as well, including content from ABC studios, Fox studios and National Geographic. The hacker promises to release the content of other studios as well unless a modest amount of ransom is paid to him.
