The T-Mobile-branded variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be receiving Android Nougat update next week.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is getting an official Android 7.0 Nougat update- not long after the smartphone has received a similar update on Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint. The Android 7.0 Nougat update brings efficiency enhancements, a revamped UI, and some aesthetic differences.

T-Mobile Project Manager Des Smith has confirmed on Twitter that Android 7.0 Nougat will be rolled out to the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ starting "early next week." Just like it happened in the case of the S6 edge+ from other carriers, the OTA update will bring Android 7.0 Nougat, not 7.1 to the smartphone. Nevertheless, this is a major update that T-Mobile Galaxy S6 edge+ owners have been impatiently waiting for.

Certainly, T-Mobile will also have to update its regular Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge to Android 7.0 Nougat. However, while there's no official confirmation on this yet, it is assumed that both handsets will get the new version of Android in the near future, according to Phone Arena.

Android 7.0 Nougat update brings with it several new features and improvements, like the ability to reply to messages from your notifications shade, an improved Doze mode for saving battery life, and more. The Galaxy Note 5 Android 7.0 Nougat update which rolled out this week also brought with it updated Android security patches.

T-Mobile upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge Plus update will be interesting to see when the carrier gets around to rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the two other Galaxy S6 devices on its network. But it did recently roll out Android 7.0 Nougat to the Galaxy Note 5, which made it the last major U.S. carrier to do so after Verizon, AT&T and Sprint had already done that earlier this month, as reported by Android Headlines.

The last two have also rolled out the update to the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, although Verizon is yet to do so. Big Red has also rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat to its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes for T-Mobile to roll out the update to those two devices.
