HTC U 11 High-End Specs Reveals in Geekbench with May 16 Launch Date
The latest smartphone flagship of HTC is scheduled to officially unveil on May 16 and the HTC U 11 was spotted at in the database of the Primate Labs-made Geekbench benchmarking tool.
The Geekbench listing showed that HTC U 11 is listed as “HTC CBP” and codenamed HTC Ocean. The listing also displayed the same specifications that were mentioned in various reports and rumors.
Android Authority revealed that HTC U 11 is powered by the Snapdragon 835, Qualcomm’s first 10nm system-on-chip (SoC) that was recently commercially launched in the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. Aside from the octa-core chipset of Qualcomm, HTC U 11 will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. The out of the box Nougat will probably improve the company’s proprietary HTC Sense user interface.
The Taiwanese smartphone maker has already started a marketing campaign for HTC U 11, teasing the touch-sensitive edges of its case. Previous reports said that the upcoming flagship will be able to squeeze it and can interact with its body to perform certain actions. This is possibly the selling point of HTC U 11.
HTC U 11 will feature a 5.5-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 screen resolution. There will be two variants: 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal space. Both are supported with microSD slot for memory expansion.
There will be 12MP rear camera with Sony’s IMX362 sensor and HDR+ support that offers real-time HDR processing in the viewfinder before a picture is taken. HTC U 11 will have 16MP front-facing selfie snapper featuring Sony’s IMX351 sensor. Its 4000mAh battery is likely to be non-removable.
It is also water and dust resistant because of its IP57 rating. Fingerprint scanner, four microphones, and USB Type-C port that can be used for headphones are all included. HTC U 11 will be available in Black, White, Silver, Blue, and Red.
For the price of HTC U 11, it may cost around the same as its predecessor. Interested buyers may get for US $700 just like the price of HTC 10 that was launched in 2016.
