Several fans are still wondering if "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 is still happening due to the lack of details about it for years already. Now, new reports are suggesting that the third installment of the hit anime series might not happen anymore due to a handful of reasons.

ComicBook reported that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 could possibly be just a dream to all the anime series' followers as it is pushed aside time and again. According to the news outlet, Studio Pierrot is having doubts on trying to continue the story of the popular anime due to its vague plotline.

To recall, the second season of the hit anime series was criticized by fans for its very poor plot pacing and portrayal. Hence, it is quite not surprising that the producers are now starting to think twice to whether or not purse the "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 despite the unending clamor of its avid followers.

Another reason behind the possible "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 cancellation is the imminent live-action film. Rumors suggest that announcing the anime series' third season might outshine its upcoming movie version.

Meanwhile, Korea Portal has previously reported that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 is now in the works and it will be revealed very soon. Spoilers ever suggest that the upcoming third installment of the popular anime series will be featuring a new female protagonist named Touka Kirishima, which is rumored to become the newest love interest of Ken Kaneki.

The life of Touka Kirishima is going to be covered in the first few episodes of the forthcoming "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3. All the things she's been through as she enter college is said to be featured, including the time when she finally met Ken Kaneki and what happens after that.
