Lenovo Flex 11 has been announced the tech giant's first 2-in-1 Chromebook that is designed specifically for consumers. The new notebook is also believed to begin selling this month.

The Lenovo Flex 11 Was Developed With Android Software In Mind

According to reports, the 2-in-1 form factor of Lenovo Flex 11 and an 11.6-inch touchscreen display with 1366x768 resolution was designed with Android software in mind. Moreover, the notebook's 360° hinge supports the four dynamic modes - tent, watch, tablet, and laptop - to provide better handling of different activities.

Lenovo Flex 11 is also reported to come in a drop-resistant enclosure that is made of plastic with an anti-spill keyboard, which reportedly handles up to 330 ml of liquid, as well as "reinforced" ports. Also, the rugged casing that is made of a thick plastic is said to affect the weight and dimensions of the device, given its 21.2mm thickness and weight of 1.35kgs, which suggests that the company has chosen portability over lower weight. Reports claim that this is reasonable as the 2-in-1 comes with a tablet mode.

As for the CPU, Lenovo Flex 11 is designed on a SoC that features four ARM cores, which run at 2.1GHz. Although Lenovo did not detail which SoC it applies, there are speculations that both computers use similar processors - the MediaTek MT8173C, given that the notebook appears to have striking similarities with the N23 Yoga Chromebook that was launched earlier this year, ANANDTech reported.
