'Final Fantasy 7 Remake,' 'Kingdom Hearts 3' Still Have A long Way To Go; Game Director Promised To Roll Out More Details

Square Enix's lineup of games slated for both 2017 and 2018 onwards.

Both "Kingdom Hearts" and "Final Fantasy" fandoms will have to wait a bit further for their much-awaited games to arrive. It has been revealed that the sequels for the franchises - "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" won't be seeing the light of day this 2017.

One of the pages in Square Enix's U.K. Roadshow Material has detailed the roster of projects that have been released and the other titles that they are about to be dished out this year. The right-hand side of the document that reads "FY2018 and beyond" showcased the games that are slated to be out during that mentioned release window.

Unfortunately, both "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" and "Kingdom Hearts 3" are part of it. Adding salt to injury, the phrase "and beyond" seems to suggest that both of the games are likely to be a no-show yet again in 2018, The Escapist reported.

Albeit previous in-game shots that were rolled out by Square Enix, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" and "Kingdom Hearts 3's" development are still far from completion. The former's renowned game director - Tetsuya Nomura has stressed early on that the highly anticipated game installments are still way off.

Nomura-san has stated that the games still have a long way to go, though he mentioned that Square Enix still has other mid-sized titles lined up for this year. Moreover, the director also pointed out that the development process being done to "Kingdom Hearts 3" veered away from the penchant and went on saying that this is one of the reasons why they can't put up a "sweeping statement" about it, Gamespot noted.

Nomura also promised that he and his team will be shelling out details on both "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" as he highlighted that he wasn't able to do such in 2016. Check out a video about these two games here:
