The Duggars Update: Jill Duggar, Derick Dillard Might Have Revealed Second Baby's Name
Jill Duggar-Dillard may have possibly revealed the name of her second baby while prepping up for her birth delivery. “Counting On” fans are looking forward to the Duggars welcoming another baby in their clan, including name-related details about Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s new grandchild.
The Duggars have been known to keep to themselves when it comes to their babies’ names. However, Jill Duggar-Dillard recently revealed that her baby bump often answers when called “Samuelito.” “Little ‘Samuelito’ (as the locals call him) sometimes wakes mommy up at night now with his active kicking,” Jill wrote in a blog post for the Dillard Family website.
According to People, such post could hint at the possibility of Jill Duggar-Dillard and husband, Derick Dillard, naming their second child with “Samuel.” However, some have questioned whether this name fits into a particular theme given the fact that the Duggars are known for following a pattern for their kids’ names.
Jill Duggar-Dillard’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, began the Duggars’ trend of fitting into a theme in terms of giving out names for all of their children. They have chosen names that begin with the letter “J” for all of their 19 kids, as featured in TLC’s now-cancelled “19 Kids and Counting.” Even eldest son, Josh Duggar, chose to continue the tradition by giving names that start with the letter “M” for his four children with wife, Anna Duggar.
Jill Duggar-Dillard’s sister, Jessa Duggar-Seewald, have already opted to go against the letter tradition. She and husband, Ben Seewald, decided to name their children based on their well-loved Christian personalities. Their first child, Spurgeon Elliott, was named after the Baptist preacher Charles Spurgeon as well as missionaries Jim and Elisabeth Elliott. The couple took the name of their second baby, Henry Wilberforce, from Bible commentator Matthew Henry in combination with evangelical Christian abolitionist William Wilberforce.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview with TODAY, Jill Duggar-Dillard said she and Derick do not have plans of sticking to the letter theme. “We are not going to do the letter theme,” Jill said. “We may pick another theme… We’re talking about family names and Bible names.” The couple currently remains in Central America carrying out their mission work, but they plan of coming back to the Duggars in Arkansas before the arrival of their second baby boy.
