As fans look forward to the announcement of “The Walking Dead” season 8 premiere date, it seems that actors Pollyanna McIntosh, Steven Ogg and Katelyn Nacon are set to become series regulars. After the show lost several major characters in season 7, it is only expected that more cast members could be promoted to regulars on the hit AMC series.

In a report by TVLine, “The Walking Dead” season 8 will have McIntosh, who plays Jadis, the leader of the Scavengers, to move forward as a series regular. Despite an uncertain role in the show’s future episodes, viewers are aware that her character was not too friendly with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the group after she decided to turn her back and trick them by selling them out to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

According to Variety, other cast members are also set to appear as series regulars on “The Walking Dead” season 8, including Ogg, who plays Simon, and Nacon, who takes on the character of Enid. Fans have welcomed such news after Simon became a well-liked character throughout the seventh season. The news of these actors being promoted as regulars comes after the award-winning horror drama lost some of its main characters in the previous installment.

Steven Yeun and Michael Cudlitz exited the show after a horrific tragedy in which Negan murdered Glenn, who had been a well-loved personality since season one, along with Abraham during the premiere episode of the season seven. Sonequa Martin-Green, who played Sasha, has also said goodbye to the AMC series as her character died during the finale. The network was already up for “The Walking Dead” season 8 after it ordered a new season in October 2016, even before the seventh installment began airing.

"What a joy to partner with Robert Kirkman, Scott M Gimple and some of the hardest-working people in television to bring ‘The Walking Dead’ to the fans," AMC network president Charlie Collier said. “And, most important, thanks to those fans for breathing life into this remarkable series right along with us." “The Walking Dead” season 8 premiere date is yet to be announced, but fans could look forward to a possible date in October, similar to all the past installments.
