Instagram Overtook Snapchat with 200 Million Active Users

Instagram just overtook Snapchat with its increasing number of users. Recently, Instagram has announced that it has 200 million active users which are around 50 million more than Snapchat. It seems that Instagram stories is nearly killed Snapchat.

Instagram, the feature cloned directly from Snapchat has continued to see massive success. Instagram stories are not having more than 200 million users per day including the posts and updates to their stories or viewing friends' stories from the carousel at the top of the app. Instagram has launched stories last year since then the app continued to grow and gathered the attention of millions of users till date.

Along with announcing the benchmark of millions of active users, Instagram even revealed a few new features. As reported by The Verge, The Company is going to add a new selfie sticker option that enables you to turn one of your own self-portraits into a sticker. The users can also pin onto future photos.

The latest Instagram tools will effectively turn the very own facial expressions into a live emoji. Besides, the company is also going to add four new cities including London, Chicago, Madrid and Tokyo to its Geostickers feature. Geostickers are the set of custom artwork that enables the users to broadcast visually that they are in a distinct location.

Just like the most of the Instagram features, this Geostickers were also allegedly copied from Snapchat. Although Snapchat was considered as the best visual communication app, Instagram and Facebook have offered better options to its millennial users.

It is not about which company does it first, but it is about communicating with their friends and which app they are using to communicate. Recently, Snapchat has launched a new tool for advertisers to gather some real time date for their marketing strategies. Let's see how long Snapchat will hold to maintain its audience.
