iPad 2017 was launched by Apple last month, ousting the iPad Air 2 as the tech giant's standard tablet offering, but without much media attention. Nevertheless, the new device boasts of better processor and performance, including a cheaper price.

iPad 2017 Brings Significant Performance Upgrade

The 9.7-Inch iPad 2017 weighs in at 469g for the Wi-Fi only model while its 478g is for the Wi-Fi+4G LTE version. According to reports, the Wi-Fi only model is 7.5mm thick, which makes it almost same as the original iPad Air. Moreover, it is 32g heavier and 1.4mm thicker compared the iPad Air 2.

iPad 2017's front panel, meantime, is not laminated to the display, which forms an air gap between the glass panel and the display. Furthermore, the anti-glare coating of the past generation models has been dropped for the new iPad.

Under the hood of the new iPad 2017, the A8X processor from the iPad Air 2 was replaced with a more powerful A9 processor and almost 1.6 times faster than the previous model. However, reports claim that it will be slower compared to the iPad Pro that packs the A9X processor inside.

iPad 2017 will retain the 8MP rear facing the camera, although some reports claim that the new iPad will not come with the Retina Flash and Live Photos features that are included in the iPad Pro. Meanwhile, the device will be available in two storage capacities -- 128GB and 32GB, Mobile N Apps reported.

iPad 2017 Will Come Cheaper

iPad 2017 is noted to have a major price shift. Based on reports, the new iPad will clock in at 40 quid cheaper compared to the iPad Air 2 and will be more than  £200 less compared to the iPad Pro. In fact, while there are cheaper Android tablets in the market, it is difficult to find any that can be compared at this price-point, which is, even more, the case when considering the notably richer app and game ecosystem that the iPad provides, Stuff reported. Check out the New iPad 2017 here:
