NES Classic Edition will be discontinued, with the last shipments to North America coming this month. The announcement was made by Nintendo, which surprised a lot of gamers considering the massive demand for the hard-to-find retro console.

NES Classic Edition Production Will Be Discontinued. Last shipments of NES Classic Edition to North America will be delivered this month as announced by Nintendo. The company reportedly apologized for the difficulty of finding the console in any stores. However, the apology was followed by speculations that the retro console was also nearing its end, given reports of the last shipment to Nordic countries arriving in April or May, which also seems to point of a likely discontinuation worldwide.

NES Classic Edition's end of production has, in fact, brought more frustration to the fans than the supply shortage since Nintendo did not give a good explanation for it. To date, the company has not given any official reason for discontinuing the popular console, prompting the outrage from customers. Meantime, those who are still hoping to get one should try more efforts since the next opportunity for the device may be the last, Fan Sided reported.

NES Classic Edition Is Available In Amazon. The NES Classic Edition with a regular price tag of $60 is currently listed on Amazon for $171.95. The product is reportedly being retailed by WorldWide Distributors.

NES Classic Edition, meantime, is an upgraded version of the original Nintendo Entertainment System from the 1980s, which comes with a number of games from that era. Among these games include "Super Mario Bros," "The Legend of Zelda" and "Donkey Kong." The popular gaming console is plugged into modern televisions through an HDMI cable, and also includes a controller that is tethered to the gaming device, Fortune reported.
