Sui Ishida's gritty Manga turned anime series - "Tokyo Ghoul" will be conquering the silver screen this year as a sizzler reel for the upcoming film has just been shelled out to fans. The short clip also revealed the featurette's playdate including the Japanese actor who will take on the role of the main protagonist.

The 30-second teaser has showcased glimpses of "Tokyo Ghoul's" notable characters especially its ghoul-human hybrid lead - Ken Kaneki to be played by Japanese actor Masataka Kubota, Crunchyroll reported. Moreover, the live action film adaptation was directed by Kentaro Hagiwara who also helmed another Japanese film dubbed "Anniversary" in 2016 and a TV series entitled "There Is No Lie."

Avid viewers of the flesh-eating anime series have been waiting for the show's third season for the longest time, according to Comicbook. "Tokyo Ghoul's" showrunner - Studio Pierrot has remained mum about it and there are even some who thought that the series got canned.

However, quite a number of fans believe that it was due to the film adaptation's production that caused "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 to be shelved by Pierrot. Another plausible reason why it got delayed over and over could be its storyline. Fans might remember that the sophomore season of the show was panned by most of its viewers that the management over at Pierrot decided to veer away from the anime while thinking of story plots that they feel that could catch fans' attention.

"Tokyo Ghoul's" third season was even announced to be getting an air date this 2017, though it was later on doused as the mentioned release date was intended for another anime series - "My Hero Academia." In the meantime, watch the recently released teaser for the upcoming "Tokyo Ghoul" film that will be released on July 29:
