Pope Francis was openly criticized by a priest in the small Italian town of Montesilvano during a Palm Sunday Mass on April 9. As a result, the priest has been asked to take a break from his parish after some of his congregation reportedly walked out of the Sunday service.

Pope Francis Has Been Called By A Priest As "Bad" For The Church

Rev. Edward Pushparaj said that Pope Francis had been "bad" for the Catholic Church, which reports claim angered the congregation that reportedly shouted "Shame! Shame!" Being a solemn occasion on the Christian calendar, which marks the beginning of Holy Week and a run-up to Easter Sunday, Palm Sunday service commemorates Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem. However, the incident has prompted Archbishop Tommaso Valentinetti of the Archdiocese of Pescara-Penne to step in and promised to meet the disappointed parishioners from St. Anthony of Padua parish.

Pope Francis' dialogue with other faiths, specifically the decision to wash the feet of a Muslim woman on Holy Thursday 2013  was referred to by Pushparaj in his homily. The priests were heard saying that the pope has only been bad for the Catholic church in four years. Incidentally, the priest's parishioners have been complaining about him for weeks now for criticizing Pope Francis' exhortation on the family, America Magazine reported.

Pope Francis Opened A Laundromat For The Homeless

On April 11, Pope Francis opened a new six-washer-and-dryer laundromat close to Vatican. According to reports, the services will free, and that the whole operation is aimed at helping the homeless.

Based on reports, the laundromat is the newest of the long list of services Pope Francis has opened for the homeless, which also include showers, a barber shop and a dormitory. That said, many have been touched by the pope's gestures, which proves he cares about everyone especially to the most vulnerable and marginalized sectors,  UpWorthy reported.
